A fist-pumping crowd gyrating to the latest house music tracks is not the first image most people conjure up when they think about the equestrian sport of polo. That may change after this weekend’s Polo Party at Scottsdale’s Westworld Equestrian Center.
Dollhouse, Scottsdale’s premiere house music venue, will be serving up fresh beats and speciality cocktails at an all-day party tent. The nightclub’s tent at Polo Party will feature dance music from a live house music DJ along with renowned specialty drinks from the club’s lineup of original cocktails.
The Polo Party is expected to draw out many of Scottsdale’s young party-goers looking for an excuse to have some outdoor fun while experiencing a venerable sporting tradition.
“Polo is an awesome sport to watch,” says Dollhouse co-founder and General Manager G.R. Boone. “And after a brutal summer, Scottsdale is ready for an awesome outdoor party. We’re coming over from Old Town to take it up a notch.”
The party kicks off at 11:30 am this Saturday, November 5th at Westworld Equestrian Center in Scottsdale. In addition to the polo tournament and Dollhouse’s party tent, the event will feature a display of vintage and exotic automobiles from event sponsor Barrett Jackson. In addition, gourmet food from local restaurants.
The organizers want attendees to be sure and wear shoes appropriate for dancing as well as for walking around the event: the Stiletto heals so common on Dollhouse’s dance floor will be less fun on the grassy fields.
After the Polo Party, Dollhouse is sponsoring several party buses to bring revelers back to Old Town for more drinks and dancing at the club. If you’re interested in hopping on one of the buses, just visit www.dollhouseaz.com and fill out the contact form to request a free ride.
True polo afficianados may be surprised at the level of energy in the Dollhouse tent given their sport’s roots in the British nobility. One notable exception, however, may be Prince Harry, the hard-partying British royal rumored to be in attendance at the tournament.
